It is a great grace of Allah Almighty for all of us to be born Muslims. If Allah did not want us and we were not born Muslims, we could not do anything. It is the grace of Almighty Allah that we were born in a Muslim home, becoming a Muslim later in life is no less than the grace of Allah Almighty. If we want to be thankful for this one blessing for the rest of our lives, we can’t do it. But now it is up to us to become a good Muslim and live the rest of our lives according to Islam.
Every Muslim has one common desire and wants to know how to become a good Muslim. Because living according to the Islamic way of life benefits us both in this world and the hereafter. And as Muslims, we need to think about the well-being of both this world and the hereafter.
We think that being a good Muslim and living according to Islam is a very difficult task but in reality, it is not at all. Allah himself says in Surah Al-Baqarah “ On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear…” and elsewhere, Allah Says “ Our Lord! lay not on us a burden greater than we have the strength to bear…”. the Rasool Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) says that the Religion (Islam) is easy. A sahabi Hazrat Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), said,
“The deen [religion] is ease. Whoever makes the deen too hard for himself will be overpowered, so direct yourselves to what is right, follow a middle course, accept the good news of the reward for right action, and seek help [to reach your goal by being constant in worshipping] in the morning, evening and some of the night.”
Ways How To Become A Good Muslim
If we preferred the life of the Hereafter to this world. Put the pleasure of Allah on top and do the following things so InshaAllah we can become good Muslims.
1. Pray Five Times

Salah is the meeting of a servant to his Lord. The Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which means “When you stand up for prayer, imagine that I am seeing and talking to Allah, If you can’t do this, imagine that Allah is watching me.
When you start your day with prayer, then Allah Almighty is responsible for your protection. The Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) said in a Hadith “Whoever offers the morning prayer, he is under the Protection of Allah, the Mighty and the Sublime”. Prayer is the thing that keeps you away from the biggest enemy which Allah describes in the Quran “Shaitan is your clear enemy”.
Hazrat Ali (R.A) says “ when I want to talk with Allah I pray Salah (prayer)”.
2. Recite Quran

Reciting Quran is the way to strengthen your connection to Almighty Allah. In the Quran, Allah talks to us and guides us on how to live in this world. In the Qur’an, Allah Almighty has told us everything about how to treat our parents and relatives and how to deal with neighbors.
Recite the Quran regularly with all your heart and attention even if it is only one verse or Page per day. When you recite the Quran, focus on every word and try to understand what Allah is telling us in this verse. You find the solution to all problems when you focus on the meaning of the Quran.
If you did not recite the Qur’an before, it is never too late to start today. Start your day by reciting the Quran you will see a great change in your life. Your connection with Almighty Allah will increase and your Iman will boost. Hazrat Ali (R.A) says When I want Allah to speak to me, I recite the Qur’an.
3. Pray Tahajjud
At the time of Tahajjud Almighty Allah, himself come to the first heaven and He asks His servants if there is anyone who can ask Me for help? Is there anyone who can ask me to give it to him? Is there anyone who offers his need and I fulfill his need?
This is the time when we ask Allah for our true guidance and solution to all our problems and needs. Tahajjud prayer gives you inner strength and mental peace. Practicing Tahajjud saves one from sins and obscenities. The best time of praying Tahajjud is the third part of the night.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“During the night there is a time when the Muslims do not ask for the good of this world and the hereafter but it will be given to him, and that happens every night”.
4. Believe in Allah’s Mercy
It is a very bad habit among us Muslims that we soon become disillusioned and disappointed with the mercy of Allah. That makes us more afflicted with sins and cause the distance from our religion. Never despair of Allah’s mercy, no matter how many sinful you may be.
Believing in Allah’s mercy is a major part of our religion. No matter how bad work you may have done, never consider yourself Hellish and underestimate the mercy of Allah. Allah has been very kind and loves every one of us for more than 70 Mothers. Allah Almighty will forgive all the sins you have committed once you repent, and will never remember you that sins more.
In Quran, Allah says:
“Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving and the Merciful”.
5. Make Dua

Dua (supplications) is an important part of Islam. it itself is worship that closes a person to his Master (Allah). Dua has a great virtue in Islam. It is the way to get close to Allah. Through dua, we ask for Almighty Allah whatever we want, whether it is a small thing or big.
All the problems of life will be solved for you if you only learn to pray properly because Dua has significant power that shakes the throne of Almighty Allah
In Quran Allah himself says:
“And your Lord says, Call upon Me, I will answer your prayer, but those who are too arrogant to worship Me will surely find themselves in Hell, in humiliation”.
The Best Dua
All duas are good, but the best of duas is,
لا اله الا انت سبحانك اني كنت من الظالمين
“There is no Allah except You, Be You Glorified. Surely I am from among the wrongdoers”.
